Gardener Wanted! Job Opportunity at Bridge End Garden

Writer's picture: Liz LakeLiz Lake

Saffron Walden Town Council is offering the post of Gardening Operative, based mainly in Bridge End Garden but occasionally working in other open spaces across the town. This really is a wonderful opportunity for someone who would like to work in a historic garden and the lucky candidate will join a long line of gardeners who have each contributed to the history of the garden over time.

The Garden offers so many different types of gardening experience that it would suit someone who likes to be doing different things across the seasons.

Horticultural experience and qualifications are desirable, along with a willingness to learn more about the upkeep and maintenance of a Victorian garden.

An important attribute is a friendly attitude with a willingness to engage with the visiting public and the volunteers that work in the Garden weekly.  That means us at the Friends! We always have a warm welcome for anyone who comes to work in the Garden.

This really is a great opportunity to work in a very special historic garden. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, you can find the full advert here and it will tell you how to make an application.  Good luck!
